printed fabric’s characteristics and printing and dyeing process

What is printed fabric?

Recently, a batch of popular “all cotton twill printed fabric” were first listed in Zhili Cotton City in China.

They have attracted the attention of many garment manufacturers because of their unique advantages such as soft handle, beautiful appearance, strong fastness and excellent texture.

Printed fabric include: cotton printed fabrics, chemical fiber dyed fabrics, chemical fiber printed fabrics, women’s clothing fabrics, which are medium and high-grade fabrics such as clothing fabrics.

Printing and dyeing technology of printed fabric

The process principle of printed cloth is that the color paste of water-soluble reactive dyes is printed and then made into transfer printing paper, and then the fabric pretreatment is closely combined with the transfer printing paper, and a certain pressure is applied to dissolve the color paste on the transfer printing paper.

Under certain pressure, because the affinity of the dye to the fabric is greater than that of the transfer paper, the dye is transferred to the fabric and enters the fabric gap to form the finished product after color fixing and washing.

Among the printed fabrics, blue printed fabric is the most famous. It is a traditional fabric printing and dyeing handicraft in China.

The whole printing and dyeing process of blue printed cloth is manually operated. In the clear blue and white pattern, there are dry and cracked ice patterns.

This irregular ice pattern, fresh, elegant, natural and beautiful, is called the soul of manual printing and dyeing, which can not be achieved by any mechanical printing and dyeing.

Printed fabric cloth can be divided into general and professional. Printing and dyeing of general-purpose cloth into pieces, and its materials can be arbitrarily cut and sewed into various clothes, quilt covers, bed sheets, etc.

Special jacquard cloth is generally designed and printed according to specific needs. Each cloth is a product, such as baggage, square towel, door curtain, pillow towel, etc.

Because the application scope and functions of the two kinds of cloth are different, they are different in pattern and pattern design.

Characteristics of printed fabric

The key to the creative skills of printed fabric cloth is plate engraving.

Every grass and leaf on color printed cloth needs to be gouged out bit by bit on the cow leather with a pattern outline drawn in advance.

Main process flow of printed fabric

First, design the required patterns, draw the patterns on a special paper plate, and carve them into an empty flower plate according to the patterns with a carving knife.

Secondly, lay the hollow pattern on the cloth to be dyed, and scrape the anti dyeing slurry composed of lime and soybean powder into the gap of the pattern with a scraper to make the slurry leak on the cloth surface.

Then, dry the cloth that has been coated with anti dyeing slurry and ash, and put it into the indigo dyeing cylinder for dyeing.

Finally, take out the dyed cloth from the dye vat, squeeze out the water for drying, scrape off the pulp and ash after drying, and then form the product after finishing.

Diversity of printed fabric development

Printed fabric has developed from single-sided printing to double-sided printing, from monochrome to multi-color, from small cloth to wide cloth, from native cloth to refined cotton, cotton linen blend, silk, etc.

The variety of designs and colors is also increasing day by day.

There are a variety of handicrafts such as blue printed door curtain, wall hanging, tablecloth, shoes and hats, bags, toys and so on, especially blue printed cloth fashion, which has become a beautiful scenery in the city.
