What material is modal fabric?
Modal fabric is a cellulose regenerated fiber with high wet modulus developed by Lenzing company in Austria.
The raw material is European beech, which is first made into wood pulp and then spun into fiber.
Because the product is all natural materials and 100% natural fiber, it is harmless to human body, can decompose naturally and is harmless to the environment.
Modal fabric product features:
- Using natural logs as raw materials
- Soft, smooth and silky
- Comfortable to wear
- Smooth texture
- Silk like luster
- It is still soft after frequent washing
- Excellent moisture absorption and air permeability
- Full of bright colors
- Fibrillation will occur
- It is an ideal blended fiber to improve fabric properties.
Technical indicators of modal fabric:
Size: 1.0-1.33dtex strength: 34-36cn / tex elongation: 12-14% wet strength: 60% wet elongation: 13-15% bisfa wet modulus 6cn / tex moisture absorption 60-70%.
Main uses of modal fabric:
Modal is an ideal fiber material for soft and comfortable knitted and woven fabrics. Because of its outstanding air permeability and easy care characteristics, it is more and more widely used in women’s coats, underwear, sportswear and household textiles.
- Modal is characterized by combining the luxurious texture of natural fiber with the practicability of synthetic fiber.
- It has the softness of cotton, the luster of silk and the smoothness of hemp, and its water absorption and air permeability are better than cotton.
- It has high dye uptake, and the color of the fabric is bright and full.
- Modal can be blended with other fibers, such as cotton, hemp and silk, so as to improve the quality of these fabrics and keep them soft and smooth.
- After washing for many times, modal fabric still maintains its original smooth and supple feel, soft and bright.
- Due to its excellent characteristics and environmental protection, modal fiber has been recognized as the most potential fiber in the 21st century by the textile industry.
In common applications, it is often blended with other fibers, such as cotton, hemp and silk, so as to improve the quality of these fabrics and keep them soft and smooth. Modal fabrics can be used to produce sportswear, casual wear, shirts, high-grade ready-made clothing fabrics, etc.
