What is China oxford fabric?

Oxford cloth, also known as Oxford spinning, is made of polyester polyester cotton blended yarn interwoven with cotton yarn, and the weft is square and flat.

China oxford fabric has the characteristics of easy washing and quick drying, soft feel, good moisture absorption and comfortable wearing. China oxford fabric looks like dyed fabric.

Oxford fabric is named because the earliest Oxford University student uniform shirt was made of this cotton fabric.

In the 1900’s, in order to resist the flashy and extravagant fashion of clothing at that time, a small group of maverick students in Oxford University designed and processed combed cotton fabric by themselves.

This fabric has a two-color effect, harmonious and quiet color, good air permeability, comfort and nature. Driven by this, the fabric has become the special purpose of Oxford University uniforms, and has been popular in Europe and America for a century. It is known as Oxford textile in the world.

How to name China oxford fabric specifications? The specifications should be determined according to the thickness of the raw materials.

For example, 210D Oxford cloth should be made of 200D raw materials for warp and weft. Why not call it 200D Oxford cloth? At present, the allowable error range of raw material thickness is + / – 5%, which is generally called 210D. 1680D luggage cloth should be woven from two 800D, otherwise it cannot be called 1680D luggage cloth.

In addition, the warp and weft density is also very important. It is also 210D. Some cloth is dense and some cloth is sparse. This is because the warp and weft density is different.

When buying Oxford cloth, we must talk about the warp and weft density. Generally speaking, the number of reeds in the warp direction is 12 per centimeter, and the number of reeds in the 12 direction is 24 per centimeter (12 * 2).

Generally, the number of spindles in the weft direction, that is, several yarns per centimeter, can be measured with a weft mirror. For example: 1200d12# reed 7.5 shuttle, i.e. 12 1200D in warp direction and 7.5 1200D in weft direction.

Foreign countries often talk about the number of T, such as 86T, 190T, 210t, etc., which refers to the sum of warp yarn and weft yarn within the range of 1 inch long and 1 inch wide.
