What is chiffon fabric？

The scientific name of “chiffon fabric” is “Georgette” — Georgette, also known as georgette crepe, is a silk fabric woven with strong twist crepe warp and crepe weft. The name of georgette comes from France.

The light, heavy, thick, thin, transparent and crepe effect of georgette yarn mainly depend on the thickness, number of combinations, twist and warp and weft density of silk thread.

The warp and weft yarns adopt two strong twist yarns with different twist directions of S twist and Z twist, which are arranged alternately according to 2S and 2Z (two left and two right), interleaved with plain weave, and the warp and weft density of the fabric is very small.

Advantages and disadvantages of chiffon fabric

Advantage:
